Kachina 's latest release on Affectionate Grooves is one filled with joy but also with sadness as we mourn the passing of DJ, Producer and MC/lyricist Ernest 'Zurcon' Payne. Zurcon was an influential member of the Leicester-based trio who succumbed to a long battle with cancer back in April of this year. May his soul rest in peace.

Following up on the Ayahuasca EP released back in March, the Eyes Of March EP contains much of Zurcon's influence and legacy. Kachina bring some fresh new cuts alongside finalized versions of sketches first showcased on their BBC Radio 1 guest mix.

Kicking of the EP is a collaboration with fellow Affectionate Grooves artist Boomdoc entitled ‘Break of Dawn’ — a delicious helping of UK speed garage and old skool house coming together to form a serious dance floor banger, with chunky 4x4 drums, catchy vox hooks and uplifting bass boom business.

Title track 'Eyes Of March' takes you on stroll deep down into dub town with infectious reggae infused vox, funky piano stabs and spacey pads that ride upon a mix of tripped out drum breaks. A proper skanking tune for de gal dem!

‘Rockaz’ follows suit bearing arms with a killer cut of dub-infused UKG. Contagious horns, FX and vox take center stage accompanied by skippy 2-step shuffles and ultra-low dutty rudebwoy bass goodness.

'Waiting For You' is a delightful slice of vocal UKG featuring the infectious vocals of Affectionate Grooves vocalist Afua . Get your body moving to the catchy hooks and pumping sub bass. Pure classic UKG vibes.
